2000 GIRLS BASKETBALL TOURNAMENT

Vickie Chiang scored 19 points to lead Homestead to a 49-44 overtime win over St. Francis in the Central Coast Section Division II Girls title game.  The game was forced into the extra period when Julia Randall sank a 16-foot jump shot from the top of the key with one second left in regulation.  She finished the game with 10 points and 16 rebounds. Tanya Green grabbed 12 rebounds.   Chris Strombel scored 14 points for the Mustangs, who repeated as CCS champions.  Christine Capuyan led the Lancers with 20 points, and grabbed 10 rebounds.   Becky Biniek scored 10 points and grabbed 15 rebounds.  Jennifer Bow scored three points.  But the basket came on a 38-foot heave at the end of the third quarter.
