There were two new proposals submitted to the realignment sub-committee on 3/23/01. One by Salinas High School and the other by Harbor high School. the new proposals were submitted beyond the ten-day circulation requirement as stated in Article IV, Section 6 (c) of the CCS Bylaws. The conference entertained a vote to ascertain whether or not the 10-day requirement should be waived, allowing action to be taken on either of these additional proposals. The Conference voted 10/21 to consider the proposals. Since the required 2/3 approval was not met, the new proposals were not considered.
The Conference then considered the recommendation made by the Southern Conference Realignment Sub Committee following their last meeting on March 6, 2001. Those present voted 18/12 in favor of the new proposal. This met the simle majority as required in the CCS Bylaws. The proposed changes in leagues will go into effect in the Fall of 2002.
