Allison Greenaway scored 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds as Redwood Christian, the defending Division V state champions, defeated Eastside Prep 39-33 to capture the Girls’ Central Coast Section Division V title. It’s the first girls’ basketball title ever won by the Eagles. In 2000, Pinewood defeated Redwood Christian to win the CCS title. But a week later, Redwood Christian defeated Pinewood to win the Northern California title. The Eagles earned the state title a week later. Angela Thompson tallied 11 points, and Leah Thornton scored 10 points for the Eagles. Markisha Coleman and Chantelle Brown each scored 14 points for the Panthers. Jamie Cole grabbed 10 rebounds.
