an available and playable location for a 1st round home game if they
are selected as the “high-seed."
If a school is not prepared to indicate an acceptable site at the time of
the seeding meeting, the opportunity to host will be awarded to the
“lower-seed”.
SITES:
The CCS Commissioner and/or staff shall be
responsible for all contracts for sites used during the CCS Play-offs. The
CCS Commissioner and/or staff have sole authority to schedule or cancel sites,
as well as full discretion as to the assignment or re-assignment of teams to
times and sites throughout the CCS Play-offs. The CCS Commissioner and/or
staff have the final authority in any disputes over sites or times of play, and
the decision of the CCS Commissioner is not subject to appeal due to the
immediacy of running the Tournament for the good of the whole. Neutral
sites are not a policy of the CCS and should not be expected in any rounds of
play. Sites will be assigned by the CCS for the good of the
Tournament.
RAIN-OUTS:
The CCS, through its Site Director or
Staff member present, has the final responsibility for determining whether or
not a match will be played. The decision will be based on field conditions
and the safety of the players, and will be made, if possible, within two (2)
hours prior to the scheduled starting time for the match. If the field is
safe to use, the game will be played. If re-scheduled, the match will be
played the following day (unless the next day is Sunday). The rain-out
procedure in completing the Tournament is to play day-by-day, with the exception
of Sundays, with no teams playing on consecutive days, if possible and
practical. (Up-dates on Tournament scheduling during inclement weather can
be obtained by calling the CCS at 408-224-2994, or checking the CCS web-site [www.cifccs.org].)
UNIFORMS:
It is the responsibility of the coaches to contact
their opponents to determine if there is a similarity of color in team jerseys.
In the event there is a similarity, it is the home team's responsibility to make
the necessary change.
TEAM BENCHES
-- Teams will be seated on the same side of the field,
opposite the spectators, wherever possible.
TEAM ROSTERS:
Official Team rosters are due to Justin Peterson, the CCS
Tournament Program printer (www.sectionsports.com/ccs/)
on or before February 1st. In order to be included in the
Tournament program, Coaches must submit rosters on-line to either the CCS
web-site (www.cifccs.org, then follow
prompts to "Play-offs/Soccer /Rosters"), or go directly to the Section
Sports web-site listed above. PLEASE DO NOT SEND ROSTERS TO THE
CCS OFFICE!!
PRACTICE AT
CHAMPIONSHIP SITES:
No arrangements for practice at competition sites are
allowed by the CCS, once the sites of the Tournament have been announced by the
CCS. Schools found in violation of this rule may be barred from further
participation in the Section Play-offs. This policy is designed to prevent
those sites that have graciously afforded us an opportunity to use their
facilities for CCS Play-offs from being inundated or bothered by requests from
schools trying to schedule practices on their site, as well as preventing an
inequitable situation whereby schools in closer proximity to the respective
sites may have an unfair advantage.
PARKING:
A. Parents and other spectators should be
advised that municipal stadiums
and community colleges will
charge for parking,
so they should allow extra time for
delays.
B. CCS member-schools that host 1st-round CCS Play-off events
are prohibited from charging for game admission or
parking. However, parents and
other spectators should be advised to allow extra time for delays when Play-off
contests
are scheduled near the end of the
school day when traffic patterns at the host school site may be quite congested.

GAME BALL:
The official ball
of the CCS Soccer Play-offs is the MOLTEN FX-1000A, and a MOLTEN
ball must be used in all games throughout the Tournament. MOLTEN
and the CCS will provide one ball to each participating team, and it is expected
that each team will provide a game ball for each game in the Tournament.
FACULTY SUPERVISION:
Adequate student-spectator supervision MUST be
provided by each school participating in the Tournament. School
administrators/faculty who attend the contest should introduce themselves to the
CCS Site Director, and tell him/her where they will be located throughout the
contest in case their assistance is needed. It is the responsibility of
the school supervisory personnel to prevent and correct any inappropriate
behavior of their students or spectators.
SPORTSMANSHIP – See CCS Tournament Guide – Section 13.
Any player or coach who
is disqualified from a Play-off contest for flagrant misconduct or
unsportsmanlike behavior
shall be disqualified from all remaining contests in that sport that season.
T-SHIRTS:
A CCS T-Shirt order form is included in the CCS TOURNAMENT GUIDE - APPENDIX. T-Shirts will be
available at the Seeding Meeting for $12.00 per shirt. While supplies
last, T-Shirts will also be on sale at Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals and Finals
Tournament sites for $12.00 per shirt.
GAME RESULTS:
Coaches are responsible for contacting
the media in their local area, as well as the CCS office (at 408-224-2994 x20), with timely results.
RADIO/TV LICENSING:
CCS owns the broadcast rights for all
Play-off
Contests. Licensing is required. To ensure the coordination of appropriate paperwork and fees,
interested media must contact the CCS Commissioner well before the
respective contest to be broadcast. No live TV broadcasts are allowed.
IMPORTANT
NOTICE TO ALL PARTICIPANTS AND COACHES:
The CIF-Central Coast Section is well aware that
many other school and non-school activities (AP tests, SAT/ACT tests, proms, plays,
holidays, senior trips, religious days, etc.) may occur during CCS Play-offs. The
CCS tries to avoid as many conflicts as possible; however, with so many activities
available for today's student-athlete, it is not reasonable to assume that all such
activities can be taken into account, and thus, CCS Play-off events will go on as
originally scheduled. Participants and coaches are therefore expected to plan in
advance for such possible scheduling conflicts and make those difficult choices as to
which events will take precedence for that individual. Generally, although it is
ultimately the personal choice of the student-athlete and/or his/her parent(s), an
academic activity should take precedence over an extra-curricular event.
